Embark on an unforgettable three-day expedition through southern Morocco to the spectacular dunes of Erg Chegaga, one of the country's most remote and untouched desert landscapes. Your adventure begins with scenic stops in Taroudant, the "Little Marrakech," and Taliouine, Morocco's saffron capital, before crossing the rocky desert of Foum Zguid and the vast dry lake of Iriki. Arrive at the magnificent Erg Chegaga dunes, where you'll experience a camel ride at sunset, try sandboarding, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, and spend the night in a nomadic desert camp beneath a sky full of stars. On the second day, travel through the Draa Valley and its endless palm groves, stopping in M'Hamid and Zagora before continuing to the legendary Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. Spend the night in a traditional kasbah overlooking one of Morocco's most famous UNESCO World Heritage Sites. On the final day, explore Ait Ben Haddou, renowned for its impressive earthen architecture and as the filming location of many famous movies and TV series, before returning to Agadir with unforgettable memories of Morocco's desert landscapes.
DAY 1 – AGADIR → TAROUDANT → TALIOUINE → FOUM ZGUID → ERG CHEGAGA
07:00 – Hotel pickup from Taghazout. 07:30 – Hotel pickup from Agadir and departure toward southern Morocco. 09:00 – Stop in Taroudant to admire its historic ramparts. 11:00 – Visit Taliouine, Morocco's famous saffron-producing town. 12:30 – Lunch break in Taznakht (not included). 14:00 – Continue through Foum Zguid, crossing the rocky desert, fossil sites, and the spectacular dry Lake Iriki. 17:30 – Arrival at Erg Chegaga. 18:00 – Sunset camel ride and sandboarding on the dunes. 20:00 – Traditional Moroccan dinner. Overnight – Stay in a nomadic desert camp (bivouac) under the stars.
DAY 2 – ERG CHEGAGA → M'HAMID → ZAGORA → AIT BEN HADDOU
07:30 – Breakfast at the desert camp. 08:30 – Departure by 4×4 toward M'Hamid. 10:00 – Visit the historic Kasbah of Tamnougalt and drive through the lush Draa Valley. 11:30 – Scenic stop overlooking the Draa Oasis near Zagora. 13:00 – Lunch break (not included). 15:00 – Continue through Ouarzazate and the Ait Saouen Gorge. 17:30 – Arrival at Ait Ben Haddou. Evening – Dinner and overnight stay in a traditional kasbah.
DAY 3 – AIT BEN HADDOU → AGADIR
08:00 – Breakfast at the kasbah. 09:00 – 11:00 – Guided visit and free time to explore the UNESCO-listed Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, famous for films such as Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, and Jesus of Nazareth. 11:30 – Departure for Agadir. 13:30 – Lunch break along the way (not included). 18:30 – Optional drop-off at Agadir Al Massira Airport. 19:00 – Arrival at your hotel in Agadir or Taghazout.
